What counts as a project
Something with a name, at least one person on it, and an output someone outside the community could use. A single paper is not a project; the line of work that produced it, together with the dataset and model beside it, is.
Projects are deliberately kept separate from models and datasets, which are individual artifacts synced from Hugging Face and GitHub, and from research areas, which are the six broad tracks the community organises around. A project is the middle unit: it is what a person works on, and it is one of the few parts of this site written by hand rather than fetched from an API.
